Ironman, I'd be far
is now done everything, what can be done. Ironman on Sunday in Klagenfurt, and I'm at the start. Perhaps more nervous than last year, because back then it was "get through" only, this time I have a target.
Last year I prepared myself with 4.607km training in 266:30 hours for the Ironman. In addition I had a week of training more available. This time I want to 4.478km and 242:55 h in the plan. The difference, however, comes not from the missing week but in February - because I was in fact continuously ill. And unfortunately, I am sure quite a classic error that happens: I have tried to repair the missing month by excessive exercise, and I turned to be a moderate overtraining. This suggests, first, on the competition results, in which I lie under my expectations throughout this year, and partly to the motivation.
But luckily there are something like tapering - ie the time span in the final weeks before the competition. In the last two weeks I was able to restore my motivation halfway and call me one thing in mind: I'm doing now for three seasons training, the fully the long-distance aligned. Clear that in order for the shorter candidate is not necessarily faster.
The goal is this time just to keep the time from last year. No stress. Enjoy the competition. This is my last a little lost. Let's see how the training this year pays to tidy tapering. And what viewers in Klagenfurt during the lighting can do. And of course, my sweet. And I did.
